Each group needs:

• 4 plastic water or soda bottles, 20-ounce (~590-ml) size
• hot tap water
• thermometer with a Fahrenheit scale
• sheets of newspaper
• wool sock
• large piece of aluminum foil (enough to wrap around a bottle)
• large piece of thick, black plastic bag (enough to wrap around a bottle)
• tape
