Each group needs:

• Life-Cycle Assessment Pre-Activity Quiz (PDF), one per student
• 1 envelope containing 1 of 6 sets of paper printouts—a cupcake life-cycle “recipe card” and its ingredient cards; see below
• 1 corresponding page of the Life-Cycle Assessment Group Worksheet (PDF) (see below)
• Life-Cycle Assessment Individual Worksheet (PDF), one per student
• Life-Cycle Assessment Post-Activity Quiz (PDF), one per student
• pencils, to make calculations and complete quizzes and worksheets
• calculator(s)
• (optional) graph paper
• (optional) computer with Microsoft® Excel® for using the Group Analysis Excel Sheets (XLSX)

To share with the entire class:

• Life-Cycle Assessment Group Worksheet (PDF), one copy per class; composed of six sub-worksheets
• LCA Activity Cards (PDF), print the PDF and cut out its 27 cards, sorting them into six sets (each with a cupcake life-cycle “recipe card” and its ingredient cards) that go into six envelopes, one per group
• 6 envelopes, to hold each of the six sets of cards, one set per team
• a large blank table written on the classroom board, for students to fill out (see Table 1)
