Power, Work and the Waterwheel

Each group needs:

• 2-liter bottle with caps
• ¼-inch dowel rod (must be longer than the 2-liter bottle)
• 15 index cards
• 1.2 meters of string
• scissors
• tape
• 100-200 gram weight (about 1/3 pound)
• stopwatch or clock with a second hand
• kilogram or gram scale
• pitcher or water jug
• funnel
• water
• access to sink, outdoors or big bucket
