• 1 calculator
• 1 stopwatch
• 20 small cups
• 1 Sharpie (to write on cups)
• 20 paper plates
• 1 device to take photos and document prototypes (e.g., cell phone)
• 1 laptop or computer to work on spreadsheets

For the entire class:

• 1 laptop or computer with projector to display instructions, videos, and time/timer
• designated testing area with materials for ramp and drop tests (Note: The teachers who contributed to this activity created relatively elaborate versions. The associated activity images do not reflect how these materials must appear.
